Enough Trash and more Cash

I’ve only been writing a lot of trash lately and that’s something I want to change. This blog was made to learn how to use one and the intention is writing about Corporate Identity, Advertising, Web design and stuff like that. As well as writing about our work at www.gimmicklab.com and my experiences around the world.

This Blog is soon going to be transfered to arturo.gimmicklab.com, but that will happen when I get cristian.gimmicklab.com’s blog design finished. Well, at this moment started… Sorry Cristian, you know I’ve been very busy.

So I hope I can stop writing about my MacBook Pro blem and i can get down to write about our new projects.

Nightmares with Steve Jobs

Isn’t that crazy!? Yesterday I was talking about brainwashing and tonight I drempt that I was showing Steve Jobs how fucked up my MacBook Pro belm was. I was showing him the screen that I don’t know why it was a monocrome screen (that’s probably what I think of the screen in my MacBook Pro blem…) and he was looking very closely at the problems I was pointing out saying that he didn’t see any.
I was telling him exactly what I believe: Steve, you have to be more responsible with the products you deliver. If not don’t use that kind of advertising you use now a days saying that apple are the best computeres in the market, because, I can assure you that THEY ARE NOT!”

Well, I guess this MacBook Problem is driving me crazy.
Do you know any good psicologist for me?

MacBook Pro-blems, FuckBook-Pro or CrapBook Problem

Do you remember that Xmass feeling, when you spent the whole night dreaming about the next morning? There was only one thing in your mind, the presents that santa was going to bring.

Some how, some one, found the key to those inner feelings you had that night, and used them for selling their products. I think we should blame advertising or adverteasing and most precisely Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s nephew who developed hard core brainwash methods to sell products to the american nation.

I believe that this system was used by Apple Computers? Creating machines that will link emotionaly the consumer to the product. But, how can such crappy machines be so successful? Everyone says that they are the best machines you can get in the market. They are cool, hype and fancy. If you have a Mac you are a cool guy, just take a look at their ads… “I’m a Mac and I’m a PC”. Poor old fat guy (sorry for the term) is always beeing bullied about how good Macs are, how stupid PC’s are etc.

So who convinced us that such machines are what we want? Are we brainwassed?

How can Apple state “The new MacBook Pro has the performance, power, and connectivity of a desktop computer. Without the desk part”? Could someone tell me how can they be soo cheeky?

My experience is beeing a Freelance Art Director:

1. PowerMac 7.200: Crap, it spent more time in tech support than with me.

2. PowerBook G4. I had to change the screen 3 times, thing that made me spend more than 2 months without my 2.400€ Laptop. Who paid for my bills during the time I spent without my FuckBook G4? Guess…

3. MacBooK Pro or should I say MacBook PROblems. I bought it in El Corte Inglés in Barcelona and i was soo delighted with my new toy. Just like the kid I was telling you about before. Shiny, rounded, glossy, fancy packaging crap machine. Suddenly some strange gradiensts started to appear in the screen, and some very scary shadows in the lower side of it. We checked all the forums and came to the conclusion that there are 3 different manufactures for CrapBook Pro’s screens. LG, Samsung and Chimei. Mine was a Samsung, said to be one of the best ones if it worked well, if not you’d most probably have to change it.

So this is what i did, i went back to the store and asked for a refund of the machine. Luckily El Corte Ingles, a part from giving you 1 extra year warrent (a 10 for El corte inglés that extends the warrent so that you have 2 years) plus a 6 months accident inshurance and 15 days moneyback refund. I got my money back and went to MacInformatica in Barcelona and got my next MacBook Pro blem.

4. My new Macbook Pro blem. Its only 2 weeks old and the screen is an LG, i should say, niiice. But this fucking machine’s batery last’s less than 2 hours working on a 150Mb file in Photoshop. Did I read somewhere 5 hours Wireless productivity? Also, the fan goes crazy 6.000rpm with the same fie. And the overall preformance is not what i expect of the machine they say they are selling me.
I called Apple and they changed my battery, nothing happened, it still has the same problem and it’s too late to give the machine back.
So what am I expected to do now? I’m leaving to Berlin next week for several months and i can’t leave my CrapBook Problem in tech support for another month until they fix it. Its a brand new machine witch I bought to make my company grow. And it only gives me more and more deceptions.

5. My business partner’s CrapBook Problem. My partner, Cristian, also bought his MacBook Pro blem 3 weeks ago. You can check what happend to him on the following link: http://cristian.gimmicklab.com/apple/macbook-pro-and-never-ending-history.

So I find myself in the situation where we have 2 brand new MacBook Pro blems. We spent 3.400€ in CrapBook’s and none of them works as it should.

Is our company going to crash because we left it in the hands of Apple?
I believe Apple should be more responsable about their products. You can’t sell products stateing that they are extremely high quality produts when you are selling crap. My advice is DON’T BUY MAC UNLESS YOU IT’S THE LAST OPTION YOU HAVE. PC USERS, DON’T CHANGE TO MAC.
